Exercise in Style: the obscure sorrows in a snicker bar
風格練習:力士架巧克力棒的微憂鬱
The play is inspired by the book Exercises in Style, written by Raymond Queneau in 1947, a collection of 99 retellings of the same story in a different styles. The play explores the relationship between existential anxieties, mechanism of communication, addiction to food and sex through the retelling of a same story by multiple voices within a writer’s head. As the play goes on, a story of a crocodile, two bees, and a corn dog’s life in Singapore unfolds. The play also provides interactive theatrical experience with the audience, inviting everyone to join “the exercises” in search of “styles”. We also provide lots of snicker bars for you.
